Centaurea cynaroides (syn. Stemmacantha centaurioides)
100 (150)cm, ornamental, tall perennial with large, rich pink flower heads on a long stalk above a broad basal rosette of silvery white leaves. Native of SC Spain (Catalonia), growing in rocky soils in open spots in mountain meadows. The correct botanical name at present is Leuzea centaurioides. Seed is very scarce. For any well drained in a sunny spot, excellent in the rock garden. 10 seeds per package.
