Unlike the species, this variety is much more compact in all parts, has broad woody stems, up to 1cm in diameter and 30cm in height. Dense rosettes of dark green, strongly succulent and slightly pubescent leaves. Its inflorescence is slightly larger than in the species, and consists of up to 12 (!) single flowers each.
