20 (30)cm, Menorca Loosestrife is a perennial, which grew in moist spots along side rivers and ponds on Menorca (Balearic islands, Spain), yet it has become extinct for the destruction of its habitat and is now known only in cultivation. It makes a basal rosette of ornamental dark green leaves with silver veines and upright stalks with small yellow flowers. Easily grown in any humus rich, slightly moist soil in a protected spot. In very cold climates give a good mulch layer in winter as protection against freezing through. VI-VII.
