Unlike related species Dioscorea tenuipes makes horizontal storage rhizomes. Native of open spots in woods from Koreo to China and Japan. Easily grown in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot. Plants require a climbing aid. VIII-IX.
