10 (20)cm, Monte Limbara Violet is a rare subspecies with showy, either white, pale blue, ink blue to intense lilac blue flowers with medium sized to quite long, up to 1,5cm long spurrs above elongating, slightly prostrate stems with broadly lanceolate leaves. Few populations are found in mountainous regions on the island of Sardinia (Italy) at above some 1.250m. Excellent in any well drained, preferably humus rich soil in a sunny spot. It has a very long flowering period. The seed we offer represent a full range of color forms as decribed above from this beautiful and fully winter hardy species. IV-VII.
