3 (10)m, Baboon Grape is a climbing woody shrub with broad, finger-like leaflets on branches which are densely covered with brownish red hairs. Small, yellowish green flowers and bluish-purple berries. Native of open spots throughout S Africa (Western Cape, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Swaziland, and Mozambique). For any humus rich, well drained soil in full sun throughout the year. In winter keep plants cooler at a minimum of some 10°C with reduced watering.
