It makes basally branching, biannual to semiwoody perennial stalks with showy bluish green, large foliage and a dense and tall conical inflorescence with numerous small yellowish-green flowers surrounded by large, cup-shaped bracts. Easily cultivated in any rich, very well drained soil in a sunny, protected spot. This beautiful species is fully winter hardy in Central Europe. III-V.
