100 (180)cm, Common Mallow is a perennial species of central and southern Europe with numerous middle-sized bright rose flowers with darker central veines which serve as nectar guides for visiting bees. Easily cultivated in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Plants from the island of Sardinia (Italy) have slightly larger flowers with much broader petals than those from populations found in Germany. V-VIII.
