40 (70)cm, Hornbill's Ginger grows as an epiphytic plant in its habitat in Southeast Asia and has rather broad leaves and showy terminal dense clusters of tubular reddish-orange flowers with reflexing petals. Despite being an epiphyte, in cultivation it adopts well to any well drained, humus rich soil in a shaded to sunny spot and a winter minimum of preferably not below 20°C. VII-X. |
