20 (30)cm, Alpine Lords-and-Ladies has small plain green, rarely spotted leaves and a pale yellowish green spathe with a nicely contrasting pale beige brown spadix. It is a rarely cultivated native of mountainous areas throughout Southern Europe extending north to southern Sweden. Easily grown in any humus rich, slightly moist, well drained soil in a partially shaded spot. IV-V.
