Goose Berries, some are edible, but especially P. peruviana has a really deliciously fresh, sweet-sour tasting pulp. Other are commonly used to prepare relishes. Ideal for any rich soil in full sun, can either be grown as annuals or as perennials in containers.
Sow at a minimum of some 20°C in a sunny place in early spring inside. Transplant into the open garden in any rich soil in full sun after last cold nights in late spring/early summer. Flower in summer and give fruit from August to first freezing in autumn. If grown as perennials in containers, keep plants drier in a sunny spot at a minimum of some 12°C in winter.
