Savories and Za'ata are mostly aromatic semi-woody dwarf perennials to dwarf shrubs native of dryish, rocky grounds from the Eastern Mediterranean westwards to the Canary islands. Several species have great medicinal value or are used in the Mediterranean style cookery. They have small leaves and numerous white to rose flowers in summer. Winterhardy species are easily grown in a sunny position and will thrive in any rich, well drained soil. They are excellent in the rock garden. Subtropical species should be kept in pots under frostfree conditions in a sunny spot throughout the year and reduced watering in winter months.
Sow fine seeds flat from mid spring to early summer. Transplant winterhardy species from summer to autumn to the final spot in the garden.
All are USDA Climate Zone 8, unless not stated differently.
30 seeds per package.
