Tall Meadow Rue are herbaceous perennials with most ornamental, finely dissected foliage and elegant, feather-like flower heads on tall stalks. Native throughout the northern hemisphere, occurring in humus-rich soils in woods and mountain meadows. For any humus rich, preferably leafy, well drained soil in partial shade to full sun.
Sow flat on any humus rich, well drained soil in partial shade. Cover seeds only slightly with soil and keep pots always moist from beneath. Seeds require a cooling period of several weeks prior to germination, which starts end of spring the following year of sowing. Transplant dormant rhizomatous roots in late autumn or early spring.
All are USDA Climate Zone 6.
