Feverworts are herbaceous short stemmed perennials from humus rich soils in open spots in woods in Eastern Asia and North America. They make quite large, lobed leaves. In summer plants are decorated with bright colored berries in white, orange, or red. All are easily grown in any humus rich, well-drained soil in a partially shaded spot.
Sow seeds flat on any humus rich, well drained soil. Keep pots in a partially shaded, protected spot outside. Transplant the dormant rhizomes to the garden after withering of leaves in autumn.
All are USDA Climate Zone 6.
