South African Grape includes some ornamental woody climbers and shrubs with leathery, dark green foliage and branches densely covered with sometimes very long reddish-brown hairs. The inconspicuous small flowers are followed by showy, dark colored berries. All species offered on this site can be successfully cultivated as pot or container plants. They grow in any fertile, humus-rich, slightly sandy or rocky soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot throughout the year with a winter minimum of some 10°C and reduced watering.
Sow in any rich, preferably sandy, well drained soil at some 20°C. Keep pots always moist from beneath and sunny until germination starts, then keep soil drier.
