Semele (Canary Climbing Butcher's Broom)

Canary Climbing Butcher's Brooms are evergreen climbers from the medium-moist laurel forest with large, glossy deep-green 'leaves' (= flat branches, lat. Cladodias). The rather small, white flowers are followed by most decorative and long lasting orange-red berries. All Semele species require a climbing aid and will develop bets if planted freely. For any humus-rich, well drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot.
Sow in any rich soil at a minimum of some 20°C in a partially shaded place. Keep drier, cooler and sunny in winter.
All are USDA Climate Zone 10.
