40 (70)cm, Balearic St. John's Wort is a showy, evergreen small woody shrub from Mallorca (Balearic island), the Balkans, the Eastern Mediterranean and Turkey. It has leathery, glossy and sticky, dark green leaves with undulated margins and bright yellow flowers. The entire plant has a very pleasant, strong lemon like fragrance. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot throughout the year. Keep plants drier in winter at a minimum of some 10°C. V-VIII.

Hypericum canariensis (Canary St. John's Wort)

3 (7)m, Canary St. John's Wort is the tallest and among the most impressive of all Canary Hypericum species. Native of open spots in rocky soils in the upper succulent zone on the western Canaries and Gran Canaria. Makes dense racemes, packed with bright yellow flowers above broadly lanceolate to elliptical, glossy, fresh green leaves. Easy in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot, keep plants frostfree in winter at a minimum of some 12°C. VI-VIII.

200 (400)cm, Large Leafed Canary St. John's Wort makes a tall woody, branching shrub which is native of semi moist spots in the laurel forest zone on all Western Canary Islands, Gran Canaria and Madeira. Its makes bluish green foliage and terminal, lax umbels with very large, rich yellow flowers. For any humus rich, well drained substrate in a sunny spot throughout the year. In winter keep plants drier at a temperature minimum of some 10°C. VI-IX.
