Ixiolirion (Mountain Lily)

Mountain Lily are elegant dwarf bulbs from steppes in E Mediterranean to Central Asia, close to its American relative Brodiaea. Requires a sunny spot in well drained soil. Glaucous leaves and spikes of 5 to 10 trumpet-like flowers.
Sow in late spring in any rocky or sandy, very well drained soil. Keep pots rather dry in a sunny place. Preferably frost free pot cultivation for two years, transplant bulbs in autumn. Keep pots in a rain sheltered place in winter.
All are USDA Climate Zone 6 unless otherwise specified.
