Shrub Violet is a small genus in the Violet or Pansy family (Violaceae) with only few species with a wide distributional range (Australia, Africa, to North and South America). The African and Australian species are soft-wooded, perennial sub shrubs with small leaves and numerous violet-like pale lilac-blue flowers with a single lower, large petal and a central yellow blotch. They can be successfully grown as pot plants in any fertile, preferably rocky, very well drained soil in full sun throughout the year. In winter reduce watering to a minimum and keep plants at a minimum of some 15°C. Excellent and very floriferous plants for the cool wintergarden or temperate greenhouse.
Sow seeds flat in any rich, slightly sandy or rocky, well drained substrate at some 20°C. After germination keep pots slightly drier and always in full sun.
20 seeds per package.
