Watercress has become rare in its habitats throughout Europe. An easily cultivated aquatic, semiperennial aromatic herb with a distinct, typical cress like mild-spicy flavor. Widely used in salads and soups, especially in France and Spain (where it is called "Berros"). For any humus rich, wet ground in a partially shaded to sunny spot. Best grown in pots without drainage holes, and soil always covered with some water.
Sow small seeds flat on top of any humus rich, completely wet soil, do not cover seeds. As soon as seedlings are growing faster, cover soil with water to some 5cm in height.
All are USDA Climate Zone 6.
