Petunias belong to a South American genus including annual and semiperiennial species. Several species have showy, trumpet shaped flowers and are easily grown from seeds as annuals in pots in any rich, well drained soil in full sun.
Sow flat in any rich, well drained substrate at some 20°C under glass in early spring. Keep on growing in pots or carefully transplant seedlings to their final spot in the garden after the last freezing nights from end of spring to early summer.
