Mallows and Sea Mallows are annuals to short lived perennials and have nice, hand-shaped, maple tree-like leaves on erect stalks and numerous bright colored flowers in pink to bluish-red shades throughout the summer. Easily grown in any rich, well drained soil in an open position. The extremely rare Sea Mallow (Kosteletzkya pentacarpos) is not reliably winter hardy in Central Europe and should be grown in pots under frostfree conditions throughout the year with a winter minimum of some 5°C in full sun and reduced watering.
Sow flat in any well drained soil. Keep pots of winter hardy Malva species in a protected spot outside. Carefully transplant after third pair of real leaves appears.
All are USDA Climate Zone 6, unless not noted differently.
20 seeds per package, unless not noted differently.
