Pincushion Flowers and Palestine Pincushion Flower are mostly perennials and produce numerous ornamental flower stalks from late spring to the end of summer in most species. All are easily grown in any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. The Palestine Pincushion Flower (Tremastelma palaestinum) grows as an annual and readily selfsows under appropriate conditions.
Sow flat in any well drained soil from autumn to late spring. Keep pots in a sunny and protected spot outside during winter. Transplant from spring to autumn as soon as plants are strong enough. Annual species are best sowed directly to the ground in mid spring.
All are USDA Climate Zone 6.
