Pycnosorus globosus (Drumsticks)
20 (70)cm, Drumsticks is a showy perennial with dense tufts of narrow basal leaves and several upright stalks crowned by globose, rich yellow flower balls which excellently suit as cut flower or in dry flower arrangements. Native of dryish or sandy soils in shrub lands and grasslands in south western Australia. For any rich, well drained substrate in full sun throughout the year. Keep drier in winter at a minimum of some 15°C. VII-VIII.

Pycnospatha palmata
20cm, an extremely rare species in cultivation as well as in habitat, where it is native in a very restricted area in Thailand. It makes a basal brownish red spathe with a nodding tip, hiding a short spadix inside. It has palmately divided leaves. For any humus rich, very well drained susbtrate in a sunny spot. In winter keep dormant corms completely dry at a minimum of some 15°C. VI-VII.

100 (200)cm, Kermes Oak is an evergreen, strongly branching dwarf woody shrub with ornamental leathery, dark green, serrated, small leaves. It is native of rocky, sunny spots on low to medium elevations in the Western Mediterranean. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot throughout the year. In winter keep plants slightly drier at a minimum of some 5°C. For its's small size this oak is an excellent pot plant. VI-VII.

Quercus ilex (Holly Oak)
4 (15)m, Holly Oak is an evergreen half hardy tree from rocky soils and is found throughout the Mediterranean region. It makes leathery, dark green leaves which are silvery-brown beneath, with entire or holly like, serrated margins. For any rich, well drained soil in a protected spot outside in the garden or in very cold regions as a container plant under frost free conditions throughout the year with reduced watering in winter and a minimum of some 5°C. The form from Mallorca (Spain) has larger seeds than the form from Sardinia (Italy). Both have more or less entire or only slightly serrated leaf margins. IV-VI.

Radyera farragei (Desert Rose Mallow)
200 (400)cm, Desert Rose Mallow or River Hibiscus is a most ornamental Australian soft-wooded, perennial tall shrub within the mallow family (Malvaceae). It has bright deep lilac flowers above large, cordate leaves. It occurs in SC Australia, where it grows in slightly moist soils. For any humus rich, slightly moist, well drained soil in full sun throughout the year with reduced watering in winter at a minimum of some 15°C. VII-IX.
