Dioscorea (Edible Yam Root)

Chinese Yamroots, Edible Yamroots or Cinnamon Vines are perennial, winter hardy to tropical, herbaceous vines from East Asia with most decorative dark-green, heart-shaped to oval, glossy leaves on a twining stem with a red tinge in full sun in several members.
All are easily cultivated in any rich, well drained soil in either large and deep pots in the warm wintergarden or greenhouse (tropical species) or outside in the open garden in a sunny to partially shaded spot in a rich, well drained, deep soil (winter hardy species). Tuber cuttings will be marked with "top" and "bottom" in order to plant them in the right direction. If grown in containers, dormant tubers shall be stored rather dry at a minimum of some 15°C in winter. All plants require a climbing aid.
10 seeds, respectively 1 tuber cutting or 1 bulbil per package.
Tuber cuttings respectively bulbils are only available for a delivery within Europe !
Note: all green parts (leaves, stem, flowers, fruits and seeds) as well as the raw tuber are poisonous if ingested !
