Pterocephalus (Canary Shrub Scabiosa)

Canary Shrub Scabiosa are perennial, woody, evergreen, low shrubs with corn-flower like blooms in usually rose to purplish colors. All make excellent pot plants or may be planted freely in the slightly heated alpine house or wintergarden. For any well drained, rather rocky soil in an always sunny spot, keep frostfree in winter at minimum 10°C.
Sow seeds flat in any humus rich, well drained, yet slightly moist soil at 15°C to 20°C. Keep seedlings very sunny in their first winter.
All are USDA Climate Zone 10 unless otherwise specified.

30cm, a Cyprus endemic for rocky open sites in mountainous areas. It is an evergreen small shrub with a woody base and numerous pale pink flowers. For any rich, well drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot. Excellent in a protected spot in the rock garden. V-VI.
