Important seed importation regulations for Canadian customers

The import of any living plant material (including seed) into Canada is regulated by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

In general, small lots of seeds from ornamental plants are permitted entry to Canada without a phytosanitary certificate and/or a seed analysis certificate, and as long as they are not listed as Canadian prohibited noxious weeds.

We kindly ask all Canadian customers to check all species prior to ordering for not being in the list of prohibited noxious weeds. The current list of noxious weeds is given on this page: Canadian Noxious Weeds

Read the full official text on the definition of "small lots of seeds" on this page: Importing small packet seed into Canada, and an ABCs of seed importation on this page: ABCs of seed importation into Canada.

Disclaimer: all of the above information is given without any warranty, and it is solely upon the customer to comply with all applicable Canadian laws. In case that seeds from an ordered species are not permitted entry, though the species is not listed as a noxious weed, we kindly ask you to contact us so that we will find an acceptable solution.
